Though there are a lot of amazing French brands out there, unfortunately, a lot of them are a little too pricey for this spend conscious blog ($500 just for pants). Of course, I’d always say go for quality over quantity, but recently I discovered a French brand that sells beautiful, chic pieces that look way more expensive than they actually are. Who can turn down an affordable way to dress like a French girl? Not me!
I’ve only just recently discovered La Redoute and I’ve been blogging about French fashion for years! I think of it as the American JCPenney equivalent. Do the It girls shop there? Probably not. But then again, are you looking to spend $500 on just one piece anyway? Though I haven’t personally shopped here (yet), the reviews seem good and I’m going to highlight some key classic pieces that should make it in your wardrobe!

You don’t have to shop at a French brand to look like a French girl. It sure doesn’t hurt, but it’s not necessarily about where you shop but what you’re wearing and how you’re wearing it. And that’s when it comes down to all the styling tips and outfit formulas. Curious what those are? Head to the next post to keep reading!

I’ve come across you before on Pinterest. I love classic and chic style. I’m your mom’s age and a plus size so appreciated you’re posts with her. Love your black loafers. My challenge is comfortable shoes and not looking frumpy. Being at the lumpy bumpy stage of life makes it a challenge to camouflage and be comfortable and chic. You’ve given me great ideas and reminders of what I have in my closet and what to do with it. Thanks!
So happy to hear you got some great takeaways from this, Mary. Looking chic and *not* frumpy is a very common challenge! In fact, I have a blog post coming out next week about how to have style in your 40s, 50s, 60s, & beyond that addresses the style + age appropriate aspect. 🙂 Thanks for stopping by the blog!
