If you’re interested in interior decorating or follow any home designer accounts, I’m sure you’ve seen a certain color used over and over again. Though Pantone has chosen a bright and dynamic purple-tinted color as their pick this year (Very Peri), the home improvement world went in a different direction, choosing calming colors derived from nature, with the most popular shade being a form of sage green.
Dutch Boy’s color of the year, Cypress Garden, has made its way into the fashion world. And though I’m not giving up my whites and blacks anytime soon, there are many reasons why this is a great color to add to your wardrobe!
First, this color is incredibly calming and peaceful. It’s not overpowering or too dynamic. It’s subtle, can be feminine or masculine, and grounding. It’s one I’ve even incorporated into my own home in the form of throw pillows and greenery because it makes me feel more at rest.
Second, the right shade can act as a neutral in your wardrobe too! And not only that, but this color perfectly captures spring and all the new growth that is reminiscent of this season.
In your search, you may find this color and its variant labeled as pea green, khaki green, light green, pistachio, or sage green.
You may be wondering what colors to pair with sage green. You have options!
But the most important thing to remember, however, is to keep your accompanying colors soft because this is a soft color. If you go bold with a soft color, your outfit will clash.
That being said, you can never go wrong with beige, taupe, khaki, or cream. I personally love to see this color paired with soft pink and beige.
Whether you experiment with this color in a pair of shoes or go all out in a patent trench coat, here are some of my favorite green picks for this season!
Trench Coat in Laminated Linen
This unique outerwear piece certainly makes a statement. Yet, because of this neutral color, you could wear it a lot more than you think. A clothing item like this makes a great transition item from winter to spring.
These darling shoes would look so cute with a floral dress or skirt. They would equally pair just as well with white straight-leg jeans too.
For a sophisticated beach look, opt for this polished one-piece. It will pair so well with khaki straw accessories!
Add a touch of whimsy to your outfit with this throwback (yet trending) piece. A bucket hat looks cute with vintage denim shorts.
This sweater would look adorable with white slim jeans and mules, for starters. You could layer with a khaki trench coat or wear it on its own. A sweater is a wardrobe staple!
This dress is so simple, but that’s what makes it perfect! Versatile enough to be dressed up or down. Wear it with heels and a moto jacket at night or with sneakers and a cardigan during the day.
Sand Green Rectangle Sunglasses
If you just want to try out the color without committing, then subtle green sunglasses are for you!
This easy spring and summer dress would look cute with anything from espadrilles to lace-up sandals. Accompanied with a straw bag, of course.
Spring is just begging for you to wear a chic pair of ballet flats. Pair these flats with a floral dress for a sweet and feminine look!
Trench coats are made for spring, especially when they’re in this delightfully simple color.
