Even if the weather is still hot, the calendar doesn’t lie. Summer is ending. Kids are going back to school, and fall is on the near horizon. With change comes adjustment, but also, new things to get excited about! Here are some things I’m loving, eyeing, and getting inspired by. These are my chic obsessions- fall edition!
This fall, you’ll see a lot of floral knits and chunky leather boots. Though I’m not a big fan of the chunky sole tall boots, I’m surprising myself with my interest in clogs. Yes, clogs! Not only that, but I’m becoming a little bit obsessed with the socks and loafers look. I’m sure you’ll be seeing a fair number of outfits I style using that styling idea this season.
Fall is always a great time for blazers, cozy knits, and cardigans, but I am obsessed with the use of gold buttons on tweed blazers and cardigans to elevate the essentials! It provides an extra chic and stylish look to this staple.
Baseball caps adorn the hats of many models in clothing retailers’ newest fall collections and though I don’t wear them much because they mess up my curls, I do like the juxtaposition of something casual paired with something chic, like a blazer or loafers. I’m inspired to put together more outfits like that this season.
On the topic of casual chic and mixing and matching athleisure with classic items, I’m seeing a lot of zip-up sweaters paired with button-downs, blazers, and leggings. A zip-up sweater is a nice detail to have on your everyday staple item. Plus, it’s versatile, and depending on styling, it can look casual or dressy.
The name of the game will be crafty layering for me this season. Fall is usually about layering anyway, but I’m excited to try layering in more unique ways!
No surprise, but bring on all the blazers. Especially the houndstooth and check blazers. So perfect for fall! Quilted coats, though nothing new, will be around a lot this fall and I love the way they look with stripes. It’s a chic take on this preppy and equestrian look.
Hopefully, this gave you some fall inspiration so you can jazz up your outfits this season!

Yes to clogs! Wore them (the authentic Swedish ones) in the VERY early 80s, now I’m shopping for the same thing 40 years later. They are so versatile.
It’s so funny how things always come back around. I can’t wait to try the out this fall!
