If you’re in Paris and keeping an eye out for classic, chic street styles, you don’t have to look very far! In fact, all it really took was a walk down the street, a few minutes on a bench, and a seat at the cafe to spot wearable, effortless fashion. After observing for a while, it was easy to start noticing patterns among Parisian women in the way they dress.

There are very few outfits with shorts incorporated, and if they are, they are layered with a pair of tights or have a looser trouser-style fit. Jeans rarely have holes or rips, either. There is a balance of masculine and feminine pieces; women don’t put themselves in a box or limit themselves when it comes to stereotypical “gendered clothing.”

In all, well-kept, well-fitting clothing was the common denominator. There’s also a balance in taking care of how you present yourself, without stressing too much to be all done up! Elevated, casual pieces can make just as much of a statement when styled correctly, and the 45 outfits below exhibit just how effortlessly so many Parisian women translated that motto into their street style.

1. white oxford shirt + silver watch + black trousers + sneakers

Spotted at the coffee shop! Black and white is a forever classic and chic combo for a cup of espresso while finishing some work, or maybe meeting up with a friend to catch up over brunch. Pair a slightly oversized Oxford shirt with black trousers, sneakers, and silver accessories for this fall look. Plus, this is one that you can take right to the office as well for a business casual style.

Wild, Wild Western

2. shirtdress + bandana + western boots + watch

Shop the Look

For a fall look with a little Western flair, try a black shirtdress, red Western boots, and a bandana-style neck scarf. Finish the look with a vintage-style silver watch, to keep the look from becoming too cowboy. This is a fun, subtle take on the Western trend that was definitely all over Paris, from boots in the window to Western-patterned shackets on mannequins.

3. green lady tweed jacket + printed skirt + western boots + red lipstick

If you want to mix things up, try putting together pieces that you might not ordinarily pair – like tall Western boots and a tweed or boucle lady jacket! Your style doesn’t have to fit perfectly in one genre or another, and French women seemed to have fun playing around with pairing unexpected pieces that ended up looking cool, effortless, and chic.

4. blazer + t-shirt + skinny jeans + western boots

Looking for another example of Western boots in Parisian street-style outfits? Try this look for an even more understated way to incorporate a bit of Western flair into your outfit. The boots are definitely the statement piece here, but are evened out with neutral, classic pieces like a plaid blazer, slim jeans, and an off-white tee. Finish the look with another classic, gold earrings.

Taking a Look at Trenches

5. trench coat + shoulder bag + white trousers + sneakers

Trench coats are one of those pieces that always come to mind when I think of French fashion – and there’s a good reason for that! Here’s a more casual way to style your classic trench. Try a pair of white trousers, a black belt bag, and a pair of sneakers. It’s an elevated look for running your Saturday errands this fall, without sacrificing comfort.

6. black trench + black jeans + sneakers + tote bag

Looking for a slightly different take on the classic tan trench? Try it in black, instead! This black trench is effortlessly cool for your next street style look. Pair it with black pants, a black leather bag, and a sneaker with a pop of red for an eye-catching style. These are all classic pieces that fit within a capsule wardrobe, but when paired together, you’ll feel ready for the runway.

Not-So-Basic Tee Look

7. t-shirt + slim jeans + ankle boots

t-shirt + slim jeans + ankle boots

Shop the Look

This look is “Exhibit A” for the phrase, “It’s all about your styling.” Even a t-shirt and jeans can look cool and elevated when styled correctly. First, notice there are no rips or holes in the jeans. They aren’t skin tight, so they can be cuffed easily on the bottom to show a little bit of ankle, or in this case, an ankle boot.

The t-shirt the woman is wearing in the photo is a well-fitting style, but once again, not too tight. To finish out the look, a belt provides added definition and interest around the waist area, while a boot with a square or pointed toe elongates the leg. Little details like this make all the difference!

8. blazer + graphic tee + combat boots + green silky cargo pants

Wondering how to style the graphic tee in 2023? Don’t get rid of them yet, it’s all about how you style them. Here’s how we saw it styled in Parisian street style outfits! Start with a silky pair of green cargo pants, add a black blazer, and finish off with combat boots.

9. trench coat + sneakers + ankle socks + jeans

Another highlight we noticed in Parisian street style looks was that socks were often visible, and a highlight of looks! Sometimes they were bright white, sometimes textured, or sometimes an eye-catching color. In the States, often the idea is to hide them completely. However, French women incorporate them into the outfit itself.

This outfit is a great way to try it out for yourself. Start with classic wide-legged jeans and a trench coat, paired with a structured, neutral bag. Finish the look with clean white tennis shoes and clean white socks.

Sweaters for No-Sweat Looks

10. sweater + white pants + two-tone flats

Shop the Look

There were many looks spotted throughout the Parisian street style looks we saw which proved that you CAN (and should!) wear white after Labor Day. To adapt your favorite white pair of trousers for fall, try styling them with a knit sweater in a more traditional “autumn” shade, like tan, camel, or brown. Then, a pair of two-tone flats with a small heel like this pair (reminiscent of Chanel) pulls the look together. Finish the style with a pair of your preferred sunglasses – this rounded style was especially popular around the city.

11. knit sweater + relaxed fit jeans + loafers

Shop the Look

For a cozy fall look, a knit cream sweater is the perfect style when paired with a relaxed fit jean, black tote, and leather loafers. This is another look that would easily transition you from a casual Friday to a fun weekend with friends. There were many styles with a similar essence worn around Paris, by both men and women. If I had to describe it in two words, I would call it “elevated casual.”

12. high waist dress shorts + ballet flats + sweater

high waist dress shorts + ballet flats + sweater

Shop the Look

We didn’t see too many shorts in Parisian street style outfits, but when we did, they were typically in a dress shorts style, like these leather high-waisted ones. Pair them with a knit sweater and ballet flats for a chic, effortless look. This is a great transitional look when the weather is still a little bit warm.

Styling Your Favorite Scarf

13. trench coat + slim jeans + scarf

Shop the Look

Here’s the trench – back again! It really is thought of as a Parisian wardrobe staple for a reason. Plus, its versatility means it’s a wardrobe superstar that you’ll never have to worry about wearing too infrequently. This particular look calls for a pair of medium wash skinny jeans and a pair of heeled mules – the perfect fall shoes for a little height, with more coverage than a sandal or wedge.

Finish the look with a black scarf – another staple piece that was all over Paris, in all sorts of varieties and colors. Scarves are a great way to express your individuality or add a pattern or pop of color to an otherwise neutral fall look.

14. black dress + ballet flats + scarf

Shop the Look

This would be a great date night look! Start with a midi black dress, add a scarf, and finish with ballet flats. The scarf is a chic accessory if you’re looking for an alternative to your typical date night jewelry. Plus, it adds just a little extra warmth for cool autumn nights.

15. black trench coat + striped shirt + ankle boots

Trench coats are an easy fall staple, but if you want to switch things up, try one in black. Pair it with a striped tee, gold jewelry, and black ankle boots for a laid-back look. Finish the look with a pair of tortoiseshell sunglasses. This ensemble would be perfect for a Saturday around town, as evidenced by when we spotted it in Parisian street style outfits.

16. trench coat + olive pants + Birkenstock Bostons

Going back to the classic style trench, try pairing it with olive pants for a chic fall outfit. These are two items that will forever remind me of quintessential autumn wear! To finish the look, add a pair of Birkenstock Boston clogs. They’re super comfortable and perfect for a day spent running errands.

Solid Looks for Stripes

17. striped sweater + tapered trousers + loafers

Stripes are a classic pattern in Parisian street style. It’s another common line of thinking in regard to French fashion that seems to have indeed been based on fact! For this look, layer a navy and white striped sweater with tapered cream or khaki trousers, a structured bag with a gold chain detail, and brown leather loafers. If you’d like to add a unique detail to your look, this bag has a boucle pattern that adds a point of interest in the effortless ‘fit.

18. striped sweatshirt + white jeans + mule heels

Shop the Look

Are sweatshirts right up your alley? If you want a slightly elevated take on your favorite crewneck, try this striped version. The sleeve detail adds just a little bit of interest beyond your typical grab-and-go look. Then, pair it with white jeans, a black saddle bag, and a pair of mule heels.

19. striped shirt + black jeans + ankle boots

Shop the Look

For this Parisian street style look, layer a striped sweater or long-sleeved tee (bonus points if it has a fun shoulder detail) with black pants, silver jewelry, and black boots. To elongate your leg, choose a boot with a pointed toe – it keeps the “line” of your leg extending further than a rounded toe would!

Midi Skirt Looks

20. sweater + midi pleated skirt + sneakers

sweater + midi pleated skirt + sneakers

Shop the Look

Pleated midi skirts are definitely having a moment in Paris. If you’re wondering how to make these more wearable in casual street style, try adding a cashmere sweater and sneakers. It’s a comfortable but elevated look for fall.

21. knee high black boots + pleated midi skirt + houndstooth brown checked blazer belted

knee high black boots + pleated midi skirt + houndstooth brown checked blazer belted

Shop the Look

Here’s another idea for your pleated midi skirt styling: try a brown houndstooth blazer, belt it, and add black knee-high boots to finish the look. This would be a chic ‘fit to try out for the office as well, and you can play around with starting the look with a turtleneck or t-shirt, depending on the weather.

Smart Looks for Oxfords

22. striped knit sweater + blue oxford + wide-legged jeans + ballet flats

striped knit sweater + blue oxford + wide-legged jeans + ballet flats

Shop the Look

Try this cozy fall Parisian street style outfit! Start with a striped knit sweater, a blue Oxford button-down, slim-fit jeans, and a leather bag. We saw button-downs or Oxford-style shirts styled in many different ways in looks across Paris. It makes sense, as they’re a great piece to include in your capsule wardrobe. You can style them in every season, and they’re easy to dress up or down. Try them with a pair of trouser-style shorts in the summer, jeans in the fall, or a pair of slacks for the office.

Pops of Color

23. red sweater + black mini skirt + tights + sneakers

Love a pop of color? Try this street style look from Paris based around a red sweater, paired with a black mini skirt, tights, sneakers, and a gold watch. Whenever we saw a pop of color like this in Parisian street style outfits, women always did a great job of balancing the point of interest with more neutral pieces. It keeps the eye from moving from piece to piece, instead of focusing on one central item that you want to highlight in the look.

Cute and Quilted

24. quilted jacket + flared jeans + samba sneakers

quilted jacket + flared jeans + samba sneakers

Shop the Look

The quilted jacket is a staple this fall season in Paris. They were everywhere in Parisian street style outfits – and in stores! Whether a colorful print is more your style, or you’d like something a little more neutral like the version above, they’re a cozy fall fit with a slightly vintage feel that offers the perfect sense of nostalgia that seems to come around whenever the leaves start changing. Try it with denim jeans and Samba sneakers for a chic autumn look.

25. quilted jacket + skinny jeans + adidas sneakers + tote bag

Shop the Look

For another example of how to style a quilted jacket, try pairing it with skinny jeans and a chunkier pair of sneakers. This will help provide some balance to the slightly oversized jacket. As for your base layer, here you can get creative! Depending on the weather you could start with a short sleeve or long sleeve tee, or maybe go with a turtleneck or slim sweater. The options are endless.

26. turtleneck + quilted coat + plaid mini skirt + claw clip

turtleneck + quilted coat + plaid mini skirt + claw clip

Shop the Look

This look is all about layering some great capsule wardrobe pieces. Start with a chic black turtleneck, then add a plaid mini skirt and tights. Add that quilted jacket we were just talking about in case it gets chilly. When you’re not wearing it, throw it over your shoulders or tie it around your waist as another accessory! Complete the look with knee-high boots.

A Little Grunge Never Hurt Nobody

27. denim jacket + turtleneck + plaid mini skirt + backpack

Shop the Look

Plaid is another fall staple pattern to incorporate into your street style looks. Try this look from Paris with a plaid mini skirt, a dark denim jacket, and a black turtleneck. As for accessories, start with a red backpack, add black boots, and finish with sheer tights.

28. plaid shacket + corduroy pants + oxford button down

Shop the Look

Play with plaids to recreate this Parisian street style look. Pair a plaid shacket with corduroy pants, a white Oxford button-down, and sunglasses. This would be a great look for an outdoor winery – cozy, elevated, and perfect for a glass of wine at the vineyard. For extra coziness, try adding a scarf in a neutral color, or any of the colors that you can pull out from the jacket.

29. plaid maxi shirtdress + sweater over the shoulders + white pants

plaid maxi shirtdress + sweater over the shoulders + white pants

Shop the Look

This look is all about layering! Pair a plaid maxi skirt and white pants for this warm fall look. As for the sweater, tie it around your shoulders when you aren’t in need of it – this was by far the most common method we noticed Parisians utilizing for carrying around an extra layer! Finish out the look with a pair of Birkenstock sandals.

Neat in Navy

30. navy coat + cuffed jeans + canvas tote

navy coat + cuffed jeans + canvas tote

Shop the Look

A navy coat is a great classic piece for a chic fall look. Try this outfit with slim jeans, Oxfords heels, and a canvas bag. Canvas bags were all over in Paris, either in substitution of or in addition to a handbag. It makes sense, as Parisians are often on the go all day long, and may accumulate shopping purchases throughout the day. A canvas bag ensures that you’re always prepared, plus, it’s more eco-friendly than accumulating multiple plastic bags, which are pretty rare to find in most European countries!

31. blue oxford shirt + motorcycle jacket + lace-up boots

Shop the Look

If you like a little more edge to your street style, try this look spotted in Paris. Start with a leather jacket, and pair it with light-wash jeans and a blue Oxford shirt. Finish the outfit with a black bag and lace-up boots – choose a pair with a block heel if you like a little extra height!

Blazing Hot Looks for Your Favorite Blazer

32. leather blazer + white jeans + ankle boots

leather blazer + white jeans + ankle boots

Shop the Look

Leather luxury is the base of this Parisian street style look. Pair a leather blazer and ankle boots with a black tote with white pants for this fall outfit. Leather in this rich, almost caramel-brown color is especially popular this season, and it provides an alternative if you’d like to branch out from black leather pieces!

33. maxi dress + blazer + belt + socks + birkenstocks

maxi dress + blazer + belt + socks + birkenstocks

Shop the Look

This would be a great look for drinks on Saturday, or the office on Monday. Start with a turtleneck midi or maxi dress, add a blazer, and belt it. This adds a little more definition to an oversized piece like this blazer! Finish the look with socks and Birkenstocks.

Luxe in Lady Jackets

34. lady jacket + white pants + tote bag + flats

lady jacket + white pants + tote bag + flats

Shop the Look

A tweed lady jacket is forever a classic staple for your wardrobe! Style it like this Parisian, with a pair of white jeans, a canvas tote, and a pair of flats. Finish the look with gold jewelry to top it all off!

If you’d like to look for a canvas-style bag with structure, there are multiple designers out there who have options, like this one by Marc Jacobs. Chloé also offers a version as well.

35. black sweatshirt + gray sweater over the shoulders + baseball cap

black sweatshirt + gray sweater over the shoulders + baseball cap

Shop the Look

If you’re going for a more casual but elevated street style, try a pair of wide-legged jeans paired with a black sweatshirt. Next, add a gray sweater tied around the shoulders. Finish the look with a baseball cap and a pair of sneakers.

36. fisherman’s sweater + olive pants + birkenstocks

fisherman's sweater + olive pants + birkenstocks

Shop the Look

A fisherman’s sweater is the perfect cozy piece for fall. Layer it with a pair of olive chinos and corduroy Birkenstock Bostons. This is a great example of how many Parisian street styles did not feature pieces that were very tight – many of the pieces featured a more relaxed fit. Finish the effortlessly cool look with a pair of sunglasses!

In a Monochromatic Mood

37. dark denim jacket + black maxi skirt + doc marten boots

fall parisian street style

Shop the Look

For a little bit of a grungier edge to your street style, start with your favorite neutral tee and then layer a black denim jacket, a black maxi skirt, and a pair of lace-up Doc Martens or your preferred pair of boots. This look is definitely more on the oversized side. However, the monochromatic pieces help balance out the “statement item” of this look – which I would say is the fit of the pieces rather than one individual piece of clothing!

38. black blazer + culotte pants + loafers

fall parisian street style outfit for women

Shop the Look

Culottes were a popular piece in Parisian street style this year. If you’re not sure what culottes are, they’re comparable in style to gaucho pants. The main difference is that culottes typically have a little bit more fullness to them than gauchos. Although this style of pants may not be as popular right now in the United States, if you’d like to try the style, pair the cropped pants with a classic blazer, a shoulder bag, and flats.

39. corduroy shirt + straight jeans + sneakers

corduroy shirt + straight jeans + sneakers

Shop the Look

Corduroy is the perfect fall fabric – it’s warm and adds a little interest to your basic pieces. Start with a corduroy shirt jacket, then add straight-leg jeans, mid-calf socks, and a pair of sneakers for this Parisian street style.

Back to Your Blazer

40. black blazer + slim jeans + converse

black blazer + slim jeans + converse

Shop the Look

This is another great example of street style that could easily translate to casual Friday! If blazers are a favorite part of your fall wardrobe, pair them with slim or skinny jeans, and black Converse high tops. Add a black leather shoulder bag, or a tote if you need more space for your laptop. This look comes down to great tailoring – if you invest in higher quality jeans and a well-fitting blazer, this look will come across as chic and effortlessly elevated and cool.

Grays and Blues

41. wool blazer + kick crop jeans + sneakers

wool blazer + kick crop jeans + sneakers

Shop the Look

Here’s another great blazer look that could take you from work to play on a Friday! Start with a bodysuit, t-shirt, or button-down, then layer a gray blazer with slim jeans (you can cuff at the ankle if you’d like!). Finish the look by including a pair of tennis shoes with a pop of color. You could also switch out the sneakers for a pair of loafers or flats, if you would prefer.

42. camel blazer + pink socks + loafers

camel blazer + pink socks + loafers

Shop the Look

Colored, visible socks were all over Parisian street style outfits! Pair a fun colored sock with a neutral foundation, like a camel blazer, straight-leg or slim jeans, loafers, and a leather shoulder bag. The fun peekaboo style indicates that you truly put thought into every single piece that you’re wearing, and is a great opportunity to show off your personality!

This would be a great look for a Saturday shopping day! And if you need shopping guides for chic fall pieces, My Chic Obsession has a free resource you can sign up for here.

43. gray blazer + wool socks + white sneakers

fall fashion parisian style

Shop the Look

If monochromatic looks are more your speed, try this all-gray take from Parisian street style outfits. Pair a gray blazer and trousers with a leather handbag and sneakers. This would be the perfect fall office look, as the wool provides a little extra warmth for cool autumn days (or chilly offices)!

Perfect in Plaid

44. plaid blazer + corduroy pants + birkenstocks

plaid blazer + corduroy pants + birkenstocks

Shop the Look

Blazers don’t have to be solid and neutral to act as great capsule pieces for your wardrobe. For a cool fall street style look, try a plaid blazer, corduroy trousers, a bucket bag, brown socks, and Birkenstocks. These fall tones blend effortlessly together, and this look reminds me of a more relaxed take on the academia aesthetic.

45. t-shirt + black blazer + white jeans + sandals

t-shirt + black blazer + white jeans + sandals

Shop the Look

If you like to play around with elevating your basic pieces, try this street style look with white pants, a black blazer, and a gray tee. The fit and quality of your basics will matter for this look! Even though it can be tempting to gravitate toward less expensive options because they’re “just basics,” investing in some that may cost a little more will serve you well. They will last longer, wash better, and will more than likely fit better than their less expensive counterparts. These seemingly innocuous pieces can truly make or break your look!

Parisian Street Style Outfits

I learned so much from the street styles I saw in Paris, and I’m looking forward to trying to recreate some of these outfits with pieces from my own wardrobe. Whether it’s featuring a visible sock, styling different jean fits, or bringing my blazer out 0f banishment from the workplace and into a fun Saturday outing, these looks provide plenty of food for thought. Plus, plenty of inspiration!

One of my favorite parts of our recent trip to Paris was scouting out the street style of French men and women. It was almost a game, to see if it was evident whether someone was a native French person or a tourist. There were times when it was difficult to tell, but after a while, there were certain markers and tell-tale pieces that indicated that it was probably a local denizen. However, the street style I’ll be covering below is by no means limited to the City of Lights. These are classic, elevated style tips and outfits that can be worn by anyone (although in this case, I’ll be talking about men’s fall outfits!).

Whether you’re a man looking to update your fall wardrobe or a woman who wants to upgrade her man’s style (because men deserve to love how they feel in their clothes, too!), this post is a guide to looks perfect for cooler weather. Below are 23 outfits inspired by real Parisian street style (photo evidence included). These are some of the most memorable ensembles that you can easily create with your own wardrobe, or with the help of a little shopping.

Men’s Fall Outfits Seen in Paris

1. white jeans (cuffed) + denim shirt + boat shoes + brown belt

mens street style fall outfits from Paris

Shop the Look

Looking for a different take on fall’s classic flannel shirt? Try a denim shirt like this one, instead. Denim is a great layer for warmth in cooler weather. Next, if you don’t want to go the route of a Canadian tuxedo à la Justin and Brittany, try a pair of white jeans. Bonus points if you cuff the jeans – it was very common to see cuffed jeans and chinos so that men could show off their shoes and socks. If you want to add a pop of color, socks in bright colors are trending right now in France.

To finish off the look, add a pair of navy boat shoes like these Sperrys for an elevated fall weekend look.

2. white tee + jeans (cuffed) + leather watch + olive green baseball hat + sambas

mens fall outfits

Shop the Look

A classic white tee was the basis for many of the street style looks we saw for men’s fall outfits. (A note, they were usually very clean, well-fitting, and ironed!) For this look, add a pair of light-wash jeans. As you can see in the photo, try cuffing these as well. That helps show off the pair of Samba sneakers. If you prefer this look with tall socks, you could do a classic pair of white ones, or maybe pull out the green from the shoe.

Add a green hat in this sage color for another way to add a bit of brightness and interest to the simple ensemble. Finish the look with a watch of your choosing – a leather strap like this one is versatile and elevates the otherwise casual look.

3. striped tee + khaki pants + brown belt + black leather watch + converse high tops

men's fall outfits

Shop the Look

When the weather is so unpredictable during the fall season, you might want a cooler look like this one that’s comfortable for walking around the city (or your neighborhood). Try a classic striped navy blue and white tee to start, and add a pair of khaki pants in a wider fit.

Finish the look with some leather details, like this brown belt and a black watch strap. For the final touch, a pair of Converse high tops add that effortlessly cool factor.

4. navy blazer + patterned scarf + plaid pants + leather dress shoes

men's fall outfits

Shop the Look

Scarves were another popular sight when scouting street style in Paris for men’s fall outfits. They’re not only for the purpose of extra warmth but also to add another point of interest and personality to your look. Men’s fall fashion doesn’t have to be an area to play it safe – men can experiment with their looks and tastes too, and scarves are one of those items that could be fun to try out in the fall season.

Plaid pants, maybe even wool pants, are a great foundation for a look like this. Next, add a blazer like this navy one. You could wear a t-shirt underneath for your day-to-day look, or a sweater or turtleneck in the colder months. Finish the look with your choice of dress shoes in dark brown. Oxford shoes in a style like this pair were all over Paris for men! It’s the perfect look for work or for a nice dinner on the weekend.

5. white tee + ray ban sunglasses + watch + black jeans + socks + white sneakers

men's fall outfits

Shop the Look

If monochromatic is more your style, this look is definitely for you. You can’t get much more classic than black and white, and this take on casual wear is perfect when it comes to simple but chic.

To start, choose a well-fitting, relatively thick white t-shirt. This is one item I never regret investing in (for a man or woman!), as it’s the perfect base layer for so many looks. A quality t-shirt will not wear as quickly and will last for way more washes than a less-quality counterpart. Plus, they generally look nicer, feel better, and make you look more expensive and put together!

Next, choose a vintage style black jean like this pair. If you’re ready to switch out the skinny jeans, try a slim fit like these. They will still give you a flattering shape but are more comfortable and up-to-date than super super-tight denim of the past.

For the details, a classic watch, a crisp pair of white sneakers, ankle socks, and your favorite sunglasses complete the look.

6. navy polo + gray chinos + weekender bag + leather loafers

men's fall outfits

Shop the Look

Men walking around Paris were not afraid to try out different types of bags. Whether it is a weekender style like this one, a crossbody, or even a tote, Parisian men don’t limit themselves to backpacks. They’re another way to express personality. They’re also a chance to add a pop of color to an otherwise neutral outfit – like this navy and leather-detailed one.

The rest of this look is rather simple. Add a pair of gray trousers or chinos, a blue short-sleeve polo so you don’t overheat when walking the commute to work or lunch, and a pair of loafers, with no-show socks.

7. colored chinos + denim shirt + loafers + gray sweater (tied around shoulders)

men's fall outfits

Shop the Look

In Paris, the morning would often start off cool, the streets shaded by tall apartment buildings, stores, and offices. Then, as the sun rose in the sky throughout the afternoon, it would warm up rather quickly! For this reason, a lot of Parisians seemed to take to tying an extra layer around their shoulders for safekeeping for cooler weather.

This look is the perfect example of how to layer different textures to create a cohesive look, perfect for cooler weather. Switch out your blue jeans for a denim shirt to start the look, in a medium wash. Then, choose a pair of blue (or any neutral color) of chinos. Finish the look with a pair of leather loafers in dark brown. These have a little thicker sole that would be perfect for the cobblestone streets in Paris. Because of the unevenness of the sidewalks, comfortable shoes are an absolute must.

A finishing touch is that wool cardigan tied around your shoulders!

8. white oxford + black jeans + gold-rimmed sunglasses + backpack + veja sneakers

men's fall outfits

Shop the Look

Oxford shoes aren’t the only “Oxford” that seem to be very popular in Paris – the classic Oxford button-up was also everywhere. A clean white version with long sleeves will go with just about anything in your wardrobe and is good for any day of the week, work or play. A slim pair of black jeans is next.

If you’re wearing this look to the office, a sleek black backpack is the perfect practical accessory. Add sunglasses, ankle socks made visible by cuffing the pants, and then a pair of sneakers.

What was the most popular sneaker brand for men’s fall outfits in Paris? We saw quite a variety including Adidas, Asics, New Balance, Converse, etc., but by far the most noticeable brand for me was Veja. They are now based in Paris, so this makes sense! They’re a quality, but still affordable sneaker that gives you a clean look and comfort, and are nice enough looking that they’re even appropriate for the office.

9. oversized oxford shirt + black baseball cap + black straight leg jeans + asics shoes

men's fall outfits

Shop the Look

Speaking of the Oxford shirt, here’s a slightly more oversized version to try out for this fall outfit. An oversized fit was very popular in Paris, for both men and women. The key is to try to balance an oversized piece with a closer-fitting one, like these slim jeans. That way, you don’t get swallowed up by too large of items!

Speaking of the Parisian way, the look of their jeans was also very clean, with no rips holes, or unnecessary embellishments. They had clean lines with simple designs and looked more elevated because of these reasons.

Finish the look with a pair of Asics and a baseball cap to make this look more appropriate for casual wear.

10. long coat+ white tee + sunglasses + medium wash jeans + canvas tote + sneakers

men's fall outfits

Shop the Look

As your outermost layer, your coat is usually responsible for the first impression of your look during colder months! For this reason, many Parisian men seemed to take great care in choosing and maintaining their coats. To emulate a similar look, try choosing a longer overcoat like this one to elevate even your most casual outfits. A medium or dark brown like this one is a classic choice, and very versatile.

As for the base layer, a pair of blue jeans and a white tee will always take you a long way when it comes to assembling the perfect fall outfit. To maintain a more casual outfit, add a pair of clean white sneakers. An artistic canvas tote completes the look. But don’t forget your favorite sunglasses!

11. leather jacket (over the shoulder) + navy tee + gray slacks + Chelsea boots

men's fall outfits

Shop the Look

A leather bomber jacket is the key to this look. It’s the perfect season to try out the rugged look, and if it warms up too much, throw it over your shoulder, as seen in the photo. It’s always a good idea to be prepared for colder weather to strike as the sun sets!

As for the base of this outfit, a simple pair of gray slacks and a blue t-shirt are the perfect foundation. And to finish it off, try a pair of Chelsea boots. Desert boots and Chelsea boots were all over Paris in men’s fall outfits, and offer a more casual but still comfortable and elevated look over Oxfords and loafers.

12. plaid scarf + newsboy cap + leather bomber + dark jeans + dress shoes

men's fall outfits

Shop the Look

If you like the look of a leather bomber jacket, try leaning into the vintage look by adding a newsboy cap like this one for a classic look. The leather jacket is a denim jacket’s slightly edgier, rougher cousin for fall, and looks great when balanced out with more refined pieces like a slim pair of jeans and a pair of dress shoes.

Add a pair of Oxfords with thick soles for comfort and a refined touch. Finish the look with another pattern – a plaid scarf is the perfect choice for fall’s cooler weather.

13. khaki polo ralph lauren shirt + light wash jeans + new balance sneakers

men's fall outfits

Shop the Look

If classic Americana is more your style, Ralph Lauren is the perfect brand for you. This khaki button-down is a perfect choice for fall, and a great pick for a capsule wardrobe as it can be dressed down with jeans for a weekend outing, or dressed up for work with a pair of chinos.

A light-wash pair of jeans makes this casual look perfect for daytime. This pair has a more relaxed fit, making them the ideal choice for cuffing the bottom to show off a pair of New Balances. They aren’t just “dad shoes” anymore – chunkier, classic sneaker brands like this were spotted all over Paris, for men and women. Plus, they’re super comfortable!

14. tan sweater vest + khaki pants + white tee + converse high tops

men's fall outfits

Shop the Look

Wondering how to style a sweater vest? To avoid making it look too “workwear” for the weekend, try layering it over a basic white tee. This will help the look appear more casual, but still elevated and reminiscent of the academia aesthetic.

Keep the monochromatic look going with a pair of khaki chinos or slacks. Pleated trousers would also work well if you want to lean into the academic look. For a cool finishing touch, try a pair of Converse high tops. If you want to dress it up or translate this look for the office, try a pair of loafers or Oxfords.

15. jeans (cuffed) + white t-shirt + blazer + converse

men's fall outfits

Shop the Look

Parisian street style was full of opposites to balance their looks – oversized pieces paired with slim ones, feminine and masculine, casual and dressier items. This look is the perfect example of that. Although a black blazer is traditionally seen as a more formal piece, when paired with a white tee, slim jeans, and a pair of Converse high tops, it creates a more casual look.

Finish the pairing with a leather bag for an elevated touch.

16. jogger pants + gray sweatshirt (tied around the shoulders) + tee + white sneakers

men's fall outfits Paris street style

Shop the Look

If you’re wondering how to upgrade your athleisure look, here’s the perfect solution. Although athleisure looks were pretty rare in Parisian street style, this is a slightly elevated way to pull it off.

First, choosing neutral pieces with subtle logos is important. Next, make sure that your clothes are clean, not stained, and aren’t wrinkled. These seemingly small details will go a long way in elevating the casual look. More fitted pieces will look nicer than baggier sweatshirts and sweats. Choose a pair of joggers like this one that tapers at the ankle, and will show off a crisp white pair of sneakers.

And for the finishing touch, tie a sweatshirt around your shoulders as an additional layer!

17. navy and white striped sweater + cuffed jeans + black vans

men's fall outfits Paris street style

Shop the Look

Classic navy and white stripes aren’t just a stereotype when it comes to French fashion. After all, all typical ideas of Parisian style come from somewhere, and this one is based on reality, for sure!

This classic look is perfect for fall, and can really translate to any season, no matter the time of year. For cooler weather, add a pair of straight-leg or slim blue jeans for an effortless look.

To top off the casual wear, slip into a pair of Vans.

18. ray bans+ sweater (around the shoulders) + denim shirt + khaki pants + loafers

men's fall outfits Paris street style

Shop the Look

This street style idea would be perfect for an afternoon at a winery, and even gave me East Coast vibes! Start with a denim shirt, in a light wash. For the rest of the outfit, stick with shades of beige and brown for a classic feel. Cuff a pair of tan chinos, and throw a sweater around your shoulders.

For the finishing touch, a pair of brown loafers (with no visible socks) make an elevated, chic men’s fall outfit. Sunglasses round out the look.

19. chino pants + sweater + oxfords + blazer + scarf

men's fall outfits Paris street style

Shop the Look

This fall look for men checks the list of all of autumn’s quintessential necessities. Start with a soft sweater in cream – bonus points if it’s cashmere. Then, add a pair of chinos in a dark olive. Next, a soft scarf (cashmere is a good idea for this piece as well) provides a sophisticated and warm touch to the look.

A plaid blazer is up next, which is the perfect classic jacket for the fall season. Finish the outfit with a pair of shiny black Oxfords. This look is a great idea for a coffee date, dinner, or even the office.

20. denim jacket + white tee + navy pants + white sneakers and socks

men's fall outfits Paris street style

Shop the Look

Is your denim jacket an all-star in your fall wardrobe? Here’s how the classic piece was worn in Parisian men’s street style. The jacket is the star of the show when paired with black and white foundational layers, like a pair of black skinny or slim jeans and a white tee.

White sneakers and socks finish out the cool, effortless weekend style.

21. corduroy button down + sunglasses + jeans + sneakers

men's fall outfits Paris street style

Shop the Look

Corduroy is the perfect solution if you’re looking for a variation of a classic button down for fall. This fabric is usually a little heavier and thicker, which makes it a great idea for extra warmth during this cooler time of year. Plus, choosing one in a forest green like this shade is perfect for fall. Next, choose a pair of dark wash blue jeans, in a slim or skinny style.

A pair of chunky white sneakers and a pair of sunglasses finish out the look.

22. blazer + tailored pants + black leather loafers

men's fall outfits Paris street style

Shop the Look

Wondering what Parisian men wear for work? Blazers, both fitted and oversized, were everywhere in a variety of colors and fabrics. For a more fitted style in gray, pair it with a pair of black chinos with a slightly cropped length.

This will help show off a pair of black leather loafers. The cropped look for men’s pants was everywhere – accomplished either by choosing more of a cropped style of pants or by cuffing the bottoms.

23. suit vest + button down + black trousers + sunglasses + oxford shoes

men's fall outfits Paris street style

Shop the Look

Here’s another idea of Parisian men’s workwear style. This look reminds me of Clark Kent! And the fitted vest is the superhero of this outfit. Pair it with a clean white button-down, and keep the rest of the outfit simple and classic with black trousers (or jeans, if you’d like to make it more casual).

A pair of black Oxfords finishes out the look, the perfect office style for fall.

The Highlights

Even on the weekends, Parisian men still dressed in an elevated way that showcased their care for their style, and the clothes they invest in. Plus, cooler weather means fall is a great season to try out new outfit combinations, especially when it comes to overcoats and layers.

If you’re looking for the highlights, or maybe what to invest in when it comes to men’s fall outfits, a nice overcoat or jacket, a pair of Oxford shoes, a quality white tee, a patterned scarf, and a pair of slim jeans would be a good place to start.

These are just 23 of the street styles that we saw in Paris. Wondering what a French stylist would recommend based on current trends? Carolyn found out firsthand! Up next: My Experience Shopping with a French Personal Stylist in Paris.

As flats morph into boots and coat lengths get longer and longer, it must mean one thing: winter is coming. Even though I’m closing out the year on this street-style series, you can still get inspired by what Parisians are wearing right now! From the perfect style of coats to casually draped scarves, fashion inspiration still abounds. Kick-off your December with a new dose of style ideas. We’ll start fresh in the spring. Merci!

1. navy belted coat + black pants + white sneakers & navy knee-length coat + black jeans + brown boots

Paris street style winter

Recreate the look: (left) coat | sneakers
(right) coat | boots

What’s to love: A compelling case for mixing together navy and black, these two outfits show us that yes, fashion “rules” are made to be broken! These outfits also show us that a smart-looking coat can be worn with anything from white sneakers to brown boots.

Why I like it: {left}What a clever way to tie the belt on a coat! If it’s not so cold that you need your coat wrapped around you, I like the idea of casually tying it behind you instead of letting the straps hang to the side. Tucking that idea away for later.

2. camel hip-length coat + cropped flared jeans + brown ankle boots + leather crossbody bag

Paris street style winter

Recreate the look: coat | jeans | boots

What’s to love: Not every look has to have a statement. With a classic coat, traditional jeans, and timeless boots, this outfit is one to love for its classic and chic look. A leather crossbody bag keeps your hands free and completes the look!

Why I like it: This is a favorite outfit combination of mine because it’s so versatile. It can easily be worn for day-to-day life and the block heel on the boots dress it up a little, adding a touch of casual elegance!

3. {left} midi olive green coat + white pleated skirt + white sneakers + leather bag

Paris street style winter

Recreate the look: olive green coat | skirt | sneakers

What’s to love: A beautiful coat and classic bag are offset with casual sneakers and a flowy skirt, creating an interesting and stylish dynamic. Want to keep wearing your skirts and dresses in the winter? You can! Just add tall socks, leggings, or tights underneath.

Related: Style Hacks to Make Your Summer Clothes Winter Approved

Why I like it: I’m particularly drawn to the look on the left for many reasons. The olive green coat is so beautiful; it’s a refreshing color yet still stays in the neutral department. I love the mix of something dressier (pleated maxi skirt) with something casual (white sneakers). The bag is timeless and adds a touch of classic to this playful, casual look.

4. black knee-length coat + black dress pants + black scarf + black platform loafers

Paris street style winter

Recreate the look: scarf | coat | shoes

What’s to love: Ah, here is that all-black look that many Parisians are known for wearing! And yet, it’s not boring, as this fashionable woman has mixed different lengths and textures. A wool coat with a knit scarf and patent shoes is a good reminder that going monochromatic is chic, elevated, and can easily be done with a few styling tips!

Why I like it: As a neutral lover myself, I’m partial to an all-black look, but what caught my attention were the shoes! I have a nice selection of loafers and I believe classics come first, but the chunkiness and patent material would be a nice way to switch up your basics when you’re looking to try something new but still stay classic.

5. checked blanket scarf + camel coat + skinny jeans + black ankle boots + olive green tote bag

Paris street style winter

Recreate the look: scarf | coat | bag | shoes

What’s to love: A neutral yet patterned blanket scarf steals the show in this timeless look. Accented with an olive green bag (and umbrella), this woman is coordinating head to toe. With tall, shiny black ankle boots and a classic camel coat, this outfit reads current yet timeless all at once.

Why I like it: One thing I’ve been noticing a lot is that Parisians wear their scarves over their hair. Personally, I love it as I think it looks effortlessly chic. Like you were running out the door and threw on a beautiful scarf. Nice without trying too hard!

6. camel coat + frayed cropped jeans + ankle boots + patterned tote

Paris street style winter

Recreate the look: coat | tote bag | boots

What’s to love: File this look under “classic outfit inspiration”. Though with a knee-length camel coat, truly any outfit belongs under that filing system. This outfit features the classic Parisian go-to example of cropped jeans & ankle boots, proving that when you find the right pieces that pair so well together, it’d just be a disservice not to wear them.

Why I like it: I’ve noticed that many Parisians carry around 2 bags while walking around town. One for probably errands and groceries while one most likely holds their phone, keys, and wallet. Yet, they never clash either! I like the interest that the animal print brings to this outfit, but I like the camel coat, jeans, and boot combo even more.

7. beret + red scarf + black pea coat + wide-leg jeans + black ankle boots

Paris street style winter

Recreate the look: beret | scarf | coat | jeans

What’s to love: A knit beret is a refreshing take on your everyday winter hat. Of course, by now you know to expect a classic winter coat in a neutral color from Parisians. And though wide-leg jeans may come and go as far as what’s in fashion, they’ll never be truly out. They are a perfect item to wear in fall and winter because they pair great with all of your boots. A bold red scarf tops this outfit, adding personality and interest.

Why I like it: Though I’ve fully embraced jeans wider than a skinny leg, I haven’t gone into full wide-leg jean territory yet. Originally thinking it was best for bohemian styles, I’m changing my mind, thinking that they can now fit into casual-chic style too. I also like the idea of adding print and color through a scarf, instead of having to commit to a bold red coat.

Paris Street Style Winter Quick Fashion Tips

  • Try casually tying your belted coat straps behind you instead of letting them fall to the side.
  • Here’s your fashion reminder that the classics won’t fail you- try pairing a coat with cropped flared jeans and ankle boots.
  • Once you have your basic brown and black coat covered, consider getting an olive green coat for a refreshing bonus color.
  • Pair your casual sneakers with a dressy skirt for an outfit that’s fresh and chic.
  • When wearing all of one color, mix up the textures to add interest.
  • Consider draping a scarf over your hair, instead of under it, for an effortlessly casual and chic look.
  • Want to take a break from beanies but still need to keep your head warm? Put the pom pom hats away and embrace berets instead.

If you’re looking to gather fashion inspiration to update and elevate your outfits this fall and winter season, then start by looking to Paris. After all, wasn’t it Audrey Hepburn who said, “Paris is always a good idea.”? And well, Audrey knew a thing or two about style. I have a photographer on the streets of this iconic city capturing everyday street style in Paris so we can get inspired by Parisian fashion on a whole new level. If you’re looking for fashion inspiration to dress classic and chic, then take a look at what Parisians are wearing right now!

1. gray scarf + tweed jacket + blue slim-leg jeans + black buckle strap loafers

street style in Paris

Recreate the look: jacket | jeans | loafers

What’s to love: With a crossbody bag and a canvas tote bag, this Parisian looks like she’s off to do some errands in a simple yet chic outfit. A two-tone tweed jacket is a chic outerwear choice for the fall months, and I can only assume it’s layered over a simple green sweater. A neutral-colored oversized scarf adds function and style. Simple and sleek blue slim-leg jeans are a perfect choice with loafers.

Why I like it: This is an easy-to-copy outfit combination for anyone that wants a chic look for fall. A tweed jacket, oversized scarf, slim-leg jeans, and loafers are some of my favorite wardrobe pieces! Put them all together and you’ve got yourself a winning look.

2. hooded knee-length wool coat + leggings + white sneakers + crossbody bag

street style in Paris

Recreate the look: coat | sneakers

What’s to love: This outfit idea is a chicer way to do athleisure and it all comes down to the coat! If you find yourself frequently wearing leggings and always on the go to or from the gym, then pair a knee-length or longer wool coat over your athletic ensemble. Top it off with a black leather crossbody bag.

Related: Athflow Is the New Athleisure | The Up-and-Coming Style Your Wardrobe Needs

Why I like it: I love that a long belted coat can go over leggings and still look nice. I frequently use this style trick if I’m home all day in my comfy leggings and have to dart out of the house quick. Without having to change into something stylish and “appropriate”, I’ll just belt a long coat over my leggings and it allows me to still look chic!

3. printed scarf + moto jacket + straight-leg jeans + sneakers + brown bag

street style in Paris

Recreate the look: scarf | jacket | jeans | shoes

What’s to love: You may be noticing that scarves are a must-have for a Parisian’s fall/winter ensemble. Functional, yes, but they are certainly not an afterthought! Neutral color or print, this is a great place to add some style and warmth. This scarf is casually draped over another Parisian’s must-have- a leather motorcycle jacket. That item is perfect for street style and looks great paired with straight-leg jeans and a pair of neutral, classic sneakers.

Related: Minimalist French Capsule Wardrobe for Fall/Winter

Why I like it: I love “on the go” street style looks that still incorporate style. A scarf tones down the edginess of the motorcycle jacket while a pair of classic (Levi’s?) jeans makes this outfit still feel casual. Plus, I love those beige (Nike?) sneakers! Still neutral, but a nice twist on your classic white.

4. long black coat + red and white plaid scarf + black ankle boots

street style in Paris

Recreate the look: scarf | coat | boots

What’s to love: Simple yet statement. That’s what this street style in Paris outfit achieves with select items that pop. You have your all-black outfit with a classic long coat paired with a simple yet bold casually draped scarf. The ankle boots seem basic, but the zipper detail on the back shows some personality and makes me think this woman has an edgy-chic personal style!

Why I like it: If you fall in the same camp as me where you prefer neutrals, you can still make your outfit “pop with color”. An all-black outfit with white adds interest. I love that you can subtly add color through a scarf for added dimension as well.

5. oversized plaid scarf + red coat + black skinny jeans + white platform Chelsea boots (or lug sole boots)

street style in Paris

Recreate the look: scarf | coat | boots | bag

What’s to love: This outfit is a good example of how to mix trendy and classic pieces. If you’re looking to try out the trendier look of platform Chelsea boots (or lug sole boots), doing it like this woman is key- balance it out with other classic pieces! A plaid scarf and timeless coat still keep this outfit classic.

Want to give color a try? Who says it has to be bold? A muted wine color works just as well. Feel free to tie in the color with your scarf, and keep the rest of the look neutral. Even better if you can get your hands on that cool knotted hobo bag.

Why I like it: Timeless fashion isn’t limiting- meaning you can only wear your 5 capsule wardrobe pieces for the rest of your life. You can incorporate trends and current items here and there, just pair it with other staple items and you’re good to go!

6. knee-length coat + sheer tights + chunky black boots + oversized brown bag

street style in Paris

Recreate the look: coat | boots | bag

What’s to love: If you’ve been following these other street style in Paris posts (here and here), then you’ll know that sheer tights and chunky boots have been seen styled over and over again! You can appreciate the timelessness of the coat mixed with something “fresh” like the boots.

Why I like it: I like the edgy chicness of this look. The chunky boots (edgy), look great with a below knee-length solid black coat (chic). I love seeing sheer tights as they are stylish yet functional and a nice break from leggings. Plus, that brown leather bag adds a pop of color!

8. gray knit scarf + suede camel trench coat + skinny jeans + brown suede ankle boots + backpack

street style in Paris

Recreate the look: coat | backpack | boots

What’s to love: Are you a busy woman heading off to work, school, or both? Don’t let your bag be an afterthought. Whether you go for a stylish backpack or leather tote bag, here you see that a bag can add or take away from a look! With a knit scarf, belted camel coat, blue skinny jeans, and brown suede ankle boots, this outfit is simple yet stylish.

Why I like it: Beige trench coat, suede khaki coat, or wool camel coat (I can’t tell for sure), but it doesn’t matter- you can’t go wrong with any of those! I’m inspired to casually drape a scarf over all of my looks for added warmth and style, too.

9. cropped red jacket + wide-leg jeans + brown boots

street style in Paris

Recreate the look: jacket | jeans | boots

What’s to love: Yes, her partner has style, but this girl has a style of her own too! That cropped red jacket is a stylish little number and looks great with her dark blue jeans as well. Though straight leg and slim jeans are a Parisian’s favorite, flared and wide-leg jeans have a place in their wardrobe too. A structured handbag and ankle boots with a heel elevate this look.

Why I like it: When I want to go bold, I tend to go red. Yes, black has the upper hand in the color to wear if you want to look sophisticated. But red, to me, is still a sophisticated color. Maybe it’s because classy women would don their lips with a bold red or it reminds you of vintage Hollywood starlets. Either way, I like to wear red or add a pop of red for some classy boldness.

Street Style in Paris Quick Fashion Tips

  • Loafers pair well with a straight-leg or slim-leg jean.
  • Dress up your leggings by wearing a belted classy coat on top.
  • Tired of white sneakers? Try beige instead!
  • Casually drape a scarf around your neck for added function and style.
  • A coat doesn’t have to reach the floor to be elegant. Just look for anything longer than your standard hip size.
  • Parisians know how to update their look without going overboard. Pick a few trendier items to try out per season, and resist wearing them all in the same look. Balance out your outfit with other staple items.
  • If the weather allows, switch out your basic leggings for a pair of sheer tights to elevate your everyday look.

Looking for fashion inspiration? Look to Parisians. Fashion capital of the world, Paris is known for its effortlessly chic and classic outfits. And though the majority of us may not live in France, it doesn’t mean we can’t dress as we do! I can’t get be in Paris right now, gathering inspiration to bring back to you, so I did the next best thing. I have a photographer on the streets of Paris capturing everyday Paris street style so we can get inspired by Parisian fashion on a whole new level. If you’re looking for fashion inspiration to dress classic and chic, then take a look at what Parisians are wearing right now!

1. black belted coat + gray cuffed dress pants + black lug sole boots

everyday Paris street style

Recreate the look: coat | pants | boots

What’s to love: Starting at the top, you can never go wrong with a classic black belted coat. Notice the length, by the way. Anything that’s knee-length or longer is almost always chicer than a standard hip-length coat.

The wider pant leg looks a bit more casual than super tailored pants for this street style look and fits over the boots well. The boots add some edge to this otherwise classic outfit. Great style mix here!

Why I like it: You’ll quickly see in these photos and around you, that chunky lug sole boots are everywhere. In fact, I just got myself a pair and I’m quite obsessed. They are sturdy and practical for the weather, yet add a chunky edge to your outfit. You can mix styles by pairing them with something feminine and classic, or you can lean into the edginess. It’s up to you!

2. black leather beret + black blazer coat + black tights + black lug sole boots

Paris street style

Recreate the look: beret | coat | boots

What’s to love: The girl is walking alone (not with a bunch of sight-seeing friends) and she’s got mud on her boots- meaning she gets by on foot and doesn’t take ubers. Proof that she’s a Parisian and yes, Parisians wear berets! But instead of wearing it in a “cheesy” way, she’s adopted it into her own personal style by opting for a black leather version.

The black tights and black coat scream “chic”, while the chunky boots dress it down. A perfect mix of edgy chic here!

Why I like it: Yes, leggings may be a bit warmer when it comes to keeping your legs protected, but I’m a big fan of opting for tights when you get the chance. It’s instantly more elevated. But really, this whole ensemble is great. I love the all-black outfit, the leather beret, and the mix of chic and edgy pieces.

3. brown belted coat + blue straight leg jeans + black socks + black patent loafers + black crossbody bag

everyday Paris street style

Recreate the look: coat | jeans | shoes

What’s to love: With a classic brown coat like this, what else do you need? This long, elegant coat is balanced out nicely with straight leg (and slightly frayed) jeans. Even though the shoes are subtle, they still shine! A patent chunky loafer adds another chic element to this look and dresses up the jeans. It looks like she has a simple leather black bag swung across her body. Amour!

Oh, and ladies, get your man a nice coat!

Why I like it: You almost can’t tell, but I love that she’s wearing black socks with her jeans and loafers. In fact, I’ve adopted this look myself in a few fall looks (pictures coming soon!). It’s a practical way to extend the life of your non-boots, plus, it’s just a little bit quirky too. I’ll sound like a broken record if I keep saying I love the coats, but it’s true…

4. white scarf + navy blue coat + blue straight leg jeans + brown heeled boots + green leather tote bag

What’s to love: Not every Parisian wears all black, yet this fabulous (potentially over 50) woman still looks elegant in her color choices of navy, green, and brown. Notice the knee-length coat, straight-leg jeans (we haven’t seen skinny yet), jeans over the boots (not cuffed), and high-quality leather-looking bag.

Why I like it: I love this soft fall-inspired color palette (green, cognac). It’s a great way to dress for the season if decking yourself out in orange and purple isn’t totally your thing. Let’s not ignore the classic boots with a heel! A heel instantly dresses up this whole look.

5. brown scarf + red coat + black tights + white sneakers & belted camel coat + black straight-leg pants + white sneakers

everyday Paris street style

Recreate the look (right): camel coat | white sneakers

What’s to love: We’ve got two outfits here to gather inspiration from. The girl on the left is sporting an oversized and casually draped scarf over a bold red coat. Tights (not leggings) lead to a pair of casual yet fashionable white sneakers. It’s hard to know for sure if she’s heading to work and has a different pair of shoes in her bag, but it’s worth noting that she’s still not wearing running sneakers.

The girl on the right is sporting an elegant belted camel coat, black bottoms, and stylish white sneakers (possibly Converse). And if you look closely, there may even be a pair of white sunnies perched on top of her head!

Why I like it: The elegant coat + white sneakers look is a combination that’s on repeat in my wardrobe. It’s great for everyday Paris street style and it’s great for everyday Iowa style too! The sneakers are practical to wear for mom life, while the coat dresses them up and makes the whole outfit look like a million bucks.

6. long black coat + blue jeans + black lug sole boots & green trench coat + black tights + white sneakers

everyday Paris street style

Recreate the look (right): green trench coat | white sneakers

What’s to love: Another fantastic duo! The girl on the left is donning a very long coat with blue jeans and chunky lug sole boots. A great mix of chic yet casual. As you can see, mastering those two styles makes up everyday Paris street style!

The girl on the right has a fabulous olive green trench coat. Yes, it’s not a cliche, Parisians actually wear trench coats and this olive pick is still a neutral and a great choice for fall. What looks like tights lead to a pair of crisp, white sneakers.

Why I like it: When it comes to outerwear, I love having a longer length in my wardrobe. It switches up your look and adds an elevated factor to it. Plus, how can I not love outfits with two of my favorite shoe staples? Ankle boots and white sneakers!

7. gray scarf + dark gray coat + black cropped flared jeans + chunky black lug sole boots

everyday Paris street style

What’s to love: A fall go-to combination, it’s simple yet not boring. You’ve got different textures with the wool coat and shiny black leather boots. The jeans are frayed, but they don’t look sloppy, balanced out with a classy coat. Topped off with a lighter scarf, it adds a “pop” of color!

Why I like it: One of my favorite jean styles is finally making an appearance- cropped flared jeans. They’re a nice switch up from skinny and straight legs, plus they pair well with boots!

8. cream baseball hat + white sweater + white jeans + chunky black boots

everyday Paris street style

Recreate the look: hat | sweater | jeans | boots

What’s to love: You know that I don’t live and breathe for trends, but I forecasted in my fall fashion posts the mix of classy pieces with baseball caps- and here is just the start! This monochromatic look of creams and whites is definitely one to copy. Very elevated, yet the baseball cap and chunky boots (Doc Martens?) add a nice casual touch. Oh, and let’s not gloss over those gold hoops!

Why I like it: Well, I’m instantly going to love any look that’s beige. It’s my favorite color. (Is that boring? It sounds boring.) Yet, it’s still interesting with the different textures. And I just love me a gold hoop, so there’s that. And lastly, I think the baseball cap is a cool touch.

9. beige trench coat + white dress pants + black loafer flats & black coat + blue straight leg jeans + black combat boots

everyday Paris street style

Recreate the look (right): coat | jeans | boots

What’s to love: The girl on the right is rocking a classic beige trench, cropped white dress pants, and loafers. What’s not to love? It looks like she has a laptop bag also slung across her body in addition to her handbag, so she could very well be heading to work. For those in the workforce, take notes on this outfit idea!

The girl on the right is keeping it classic and simple in her black coat, straight-leg denim, and combat boots. Timeless!

Why I like it: You know I’m going to have all the heart eyes for a trench and loafer combo as well as the classic outfit of a coat, jeans, and boots. You can never go wrong with either look!

Though it’s nothing I haven’t said before, maybe these photos will help you see that there are 2 things you should focus on when it comes to classic fashion: an amazing coat and great boots!

Start there for dressing like a Parisian. But really, there are so many great fashion takeaways here from the everyday Paris street style. Let’s recap!
